Giverny
In the footsteps of Claude Monet
🏛️ A bit of history:
A small Norman village 1.5 hours from Paris, Giverny is world-famous for having been the home of the Impressionist painter Claude Monet, an iconic figure in French art. It was here that he settled in 1883, having fallen in love with the light and bucolic landscapes.
In his pink house with green shutters, he created a true haven of peace: a French-style flower garden and, above all, a Japanese-inspired water garden with its famous wooden bridge and water lilies, immortalised in some of the world's most famous works of art.
Visiting Giverny means entering Monet's intimate world, walking in his footsteps, admiring the landscapes he painted, and feeling the peaceful atmosphere that inspired him for 40 years.
Today, the Claude Monet Foundation welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors every year who come to discover this enchanting place, where art, nature and poetry come together. A must-see for lovers of beauty, flowers and tranquillity.
