Discover the Orsay Museum
Impressionist masterpieces in a grand setting.
🕰️ A bit of history!
Before it housed one of Paris' most emblematic museums, the Orsay Museum building was... a train station! Built for the 1900 Universal Exhibition, the Orsay train station welcomed trains from the southwest of France. It then became a reception center for prisoners, a theater and an exhibition space, before being transformed into a museum in 1986.
Today, the Orsay Museum is world-renowned for its exceptional collection of art from the 19th to the early 20th century, covering the period 1848-1914. It houses the world's largest collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works.
Masterpieces include paintings by Monet, Van Gogh, Manet, Degas, Renoir, Gauguin and Cézanne.

- Morning opening (9:30 a.m.): Fewer people, peaceful atmosphere for admiring the works.
